ASFC was established in 2003 to help better meet the needs of high risk residential behavioral health populations. ASFC made a strategic commitment to significantly shift its mission and focus to the community as a whole. ASFC decided to support the vital needs of behavioral health care for children and teens in collaboration with system of care efforts. We support the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity for growth, recovery, and a quality of life that includes community, family, and friends. ASFC has since assembled a talented team of leaders dedicated to fulfilling our mission. ASFC standing for Achieving Skills For Change is staffed by a Board Certified psychiatrist as well as licensed psychologist, clinical social workers, counselors and certified addiction specialists. Therapy, which is comprised of medical and behavioral evaluation and treatment, is provided to patients and families in individual and group settings. ASFC also address the needs of individuals suffering from co occurring mental health and substance abuse disorder. Our substance abuse treatment program combines the 12 Step recovery principles with individual, group, family, recreational and experiential therapies to help individuals understand heir disease and guide them through the recovery process. Our services include counseling in the area of conflict resolution, value clarification, social skills, positive social and recreational activities, building self esteem, effective communication skills, and anger management and are provided in homes, schools and communities.
