There are so many wonderful things to experience when you live in Georgia, and having a plethora of attractive gardens to visit is one of them. Our state is fortunate enough to have great temperatures and wonderful soil so a variety of plants and flowers can thrive in our area.

Whether you have a green thumb or simply like to enjoy the beautiful sights and smells, be sure to visit the following best gardens throughout Georgia for an experience you’ll never forget.

No mater what type of flowers or plants interest you, or if you’re just looking for something new to do, visiting a well-known Georgia garden is a great way to spend the day and gather some inspiration for your own garden or flower bed.

Speaking of your own garden, spring is a great time to start planning for your own flower masterpiece. Be sure to do research on the flowers and plants you’d like to grow, and be sure to get your yard ready for spring. Callaway Gardens

Callaway Gardens excites visitors with more than 6,000 acres of beautiful flowers, fruits and vegetables, woodlands, and even a nature preserve. This area also offers plenty of family-friendly activities, so it’s a great place to take the kids for a new experience.

Aside from its size, Callaway Gardens is best known for its large display of azaleas—one of the biggest in the world. There is even a resort on-site, so you and the family can stay on the property and wake up to a beautiful garden every day.

Gibbs Gardens

Jim Gibbs was the founder and president of Atlanta’s Gibbs Landscape Company. When he retired, he opened Gibbs Gardens, a garden area that also includes a variety of streams, waterfalls, and other water features. Like Callaway, there is a manor on the property too, which is a sight in itself.

Barnsley Resort

TheBarnsley Resort was mirrored off a garden in  England, with vast rows of beautiful flowers and plants. When you visit the area, you will not only be immersed in a variety of beautiful flowers, but you will also be able to purchase some of those you love. That’s because many of the fruits, vegetables, and flowers found throughout the property are for sale, which allows you to add some of this beauty to your own yard.

In addition to making a day trip out of this, you can stay in one of 36 cabins on the 3,300-acre property. Plus, there’s even a restaurant onsite, so you have access to everything you need without leaving the premises.

Smith Gilbert Gardens

If you want to experience nature at its finest, then be sure to head to Smith Gilbert Gardens. With over 16 acres, you can experience woodlands, nature walks, waterfall displays, and more that 3,000 types of flowers and plants. Basically, you can come here regularly and still find something new you haven’t seen before.

State Botanical Garden of Georgia

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia delivers beautifuldisplays of flowers and plants that you may not find anywhere else. You and your family can spend hours walking around the property and looking at the unique ways horticulturists design and layout different species of flowers. You can also enjoy more than five miles of nature walks, and because you’re looking at lovely sights along the way, it won’t even feel like exercise.
