Spring Soccer About to Begin
Spring soccer registration at the Covington Family YMCA is underway! Our Fall season was a memorable one for us at the Y with the opening of our Covington Family YMCA Outdoor Center located on Stone Rd. in Oxford. We had 426 particpants ranging in age from 3-15! We have been blessed with an amazing new facilty and look forward to seeing the sport of soccer grow not only in the YMCA, but in Newton County.

For the past four years, I have been the playwright for the Social Circle Theater. We collect stories from the older members of our community or even younger folks who have stories about their parents and grandparents. We take these stories and turn them into an oral history play entitled STORIES FROM THE WELL each fall. Then 70 - 100 local amateur actors come together and bring the show to life. A very special event is being planned for November 1 in downtown Covington. Your local American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 32 has partnered with Operation Sandbox GA to bring this festival to the Square. A whole afternoon's worth of fun will take place between the hours of 4pm till 8pm and the event itself is free.
