||The Chi Tau Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., which serves the Covington and Conyers area, will host a Read-In at Stonecrest Mall on Saturday, February 9th, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. The purpose of the event is to emphasize the importance of reading by having members of Chi Tau Omega and members of the chapter's two youth groups, Emerging Young Leaders (EYL) and Ivy Prep, read in public. The event also coordinates with the National African-American Read-In celebration and Black History Month. Attendees of the event will have the opportunity to watch a simulation of the "Sit-in at the Woolworth Counter," performed by members of EYL and Ivy Prep. There will be a reading help center at the event where parents and teachers can receive information useful to them in helping children become better readers. The event is free and open to the public. Please help Chi Tau Omega celebrate reading and Black History Month by attending the Read-In.
